Journalist and writer Paolo Fileni, born in the Marche region in 1954, will present his novels Runca Rais and Il destino dei tonni on Saturday, October 18 at 6:30 PM, at the Mondadori Bookstore “Atelier delle Storie” in Loreto, Via Buffolareccia.
Following the success of Arcano Conero, an intriguing spy story set in the lands of the Conero, Fileni returns to bookstores with the first printed edition of Il destino dei tonni, a novel that vividly and precisely portrays a Sicily that no longer exists—between the slaughter of fish and men, under the dark direction of a sinister puppeteer who believes he can control everyone’s fate.
Fileni’s style, direct and sharp, capable of narrating societal transformations and the shadows of power with historical accuracy and narrative tension, led UniTre of Camerano to invite him to teach a Creative Writing Course.
The other novel being presented is Runca Rais, the direct sequel to Il destino dei tonni, which takes readers back to Sicily eighteen years after the events of the first book. The protagonist, nicknamed Runca, receives an unexpected call from America that launches him into a dangerous adventure across Sicily, Reggio Calabria, and Turin, where he must face new enemies and dilemmas.
The event is open to all and will conclude with a book signing.
