From June 20 to 22, 2025, Ancona will transform into the stage for AncoNapoleone, a three-day cultural and historical event dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte and the deep connection between the city and the Napoleonic era.
The event celebrates Ancona’s entry into the Fédération Européenne des Cités Napoléoniennes, an international recognition that enhances the city’s historical heritage.
The program opens on Friday, June 20 at 6:00 p.m. with free guided tours themed “Napoleonic Ancona” — booking required at the IAT Edicola in Piazza Roma.
At 6:30 p.m., the associations Accademia di Oplologia e Militaria and Quam Pulchra Es will lead an engaging theatrical walking tour through the city center, from Piazza Roma to Piazza del Papa.
On Saturday, June 21 at 6:00 p.m., renowned historian Prof. Luigi Mascilli Migliorini — member of the Accademia dei Lincei and Professor of Modern History at L’Orientale University of Naples — will present his works at the Ridotto delle Muse, enriching the festival with his distinguished academic insight.
The grand finale will take place on Sunday, June 22, with a round table at the Loggia dei Mercanti (9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) dedicated to exploring the relationship between Ancona and Napoleon, featuring the special participation of Charles Bonaparte, Honorary President of the Fédération Européenne des Cités Napoléoniennes.
