The Conero and its mountain have long been a wellspring of inspiration, giving rise to outstanding literary projects in recent years — among them Arcano Conero, a captivating spy story that keeps readers on the edge of their seats, eager to discover how the plot unfolds.
The novel, which is enjoying strong sales both in print and digital formats, is the latest work by Paolo Fileni, a journalist born in 1954 in San Marcello (Ancona). Over his career, Fileni has worked as editor and director for various newspapers between Piedmont and the Marche, most recently serving as Editorial Director of the online magazine Corriere del Conero. His passion for writing has led him to publish several books, including Tornare a vivere (1983), Frammenti d’oziosi pensieri (2000), Il destino dei tonni (2018), and Covid-19, Il Virus che ci ha insegnato ad abbracciarci con gli occhi.
Arcano Conero, Fileni’s latest work, tells the story of Emma Marcelli, a restaurateur from Sirolo who runs a restaurant in Numana, and Kuzma Kovalenko, a Ukrainian biologist leading a double life in Russia. The plot unfolds between Sirolo, Numana, Camerano, Ancona, Monte Conero, Rome, Kyiv, and Moscow, weaving together espionage, romance, and the backdrop of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
After presenting the novel in Sirolo and Numana, Fileni brings Emma and Kuz to Ancona — specifically to Zucchero a Velò, a cultural venue known for hosting creative and artistic events. The presentation will take place on Thursday, October 3, starting at 9:00 p.m., and will feature Carla Latini (Italia a Tavola) and Luca Tortuga (Radio Serena), who will accompany the author and audience on this journey through intrigue, betrayal, and love.
