DESCRIPTION

The Diocesan Museum is hosted inside the Old Episcopio Palace, next to San Ciriaco Cathedral of Ancona, right on top of  the Guasco hill.

The museum hexhibits particularly valuable works , mainly of pastoral nature, like the Gorgonio's sarcophagus (4 th century), St. Marcellino’s  Gospels (6th century), St. Ciriaco’s silk drape (10th century), a stone relief (12 th century), St. Stefano reliquary containing one of the stones he was hit with, painted panels from the Marchigian school (15th century)  and four Flemish arras weaved on cardboards created by P.P. Rubens.

Admittance: free
Only guided tours.
Accessible to disabled, tactile visit for blind
