A conversation with the hotel manager of Hotel Emilia in Ancona.
How and when did the hotel started?
As a result of a long family history, the hotel Emilia in Portonovo was established in 1964 by grandmother Emilia, from which the hotel takes its name. It is a long history of traditions and past affections, of which you will find still traces in today successors Raffaella and Michele.
What are the main features of the structure and the service?
Emilia is a four star hotel in Ancona: a white sculpture suspended between the sky and the blue sea of Portonovo Bay, in the Regional Park of Mount Conero.
Distinctive feature of the hotel is its location and its well-kept garden, surrounded by a pine forest that climbs to the top and gently goes down to the white pebbles braches, ideal setting for a unique view. Here you will breathe the scent of the sea, of the gorse bushes, of lavender and acacia, walking barefoot on the grass, reading a book in the shade of an oak or sunbathing on a deck chair, then taking a dip in the private pool and maybe a lunch or a nice aperitif at sunset in our gazebo.
Portonovo Beach is only a few minutes away from the hotel and it is easily reached with our complimentary shuttle service.
We also have a restaurant open for lunch and dinner: an ideal place to celebrate weddings or other celebrations.
How are the rooms?
We have 30 rooms of different types: Suite (also with Jacuzzi), Deluxe, Comfort and Standard. Each room is different, but all are furnished with style and are equipped with TV, air conditioning and free wi-fi.
What is the style of your cuisine?
Our cuisine is modern but with old manual dexterity: bread and homemade egg pasta, simple ingredients and the highest quality seafood prepared with simplicity and originality, accompanied by classic wines of the Marches and renowed bottles of Italian wines.
